Windy Night

Day 161, January 17th, 2010

It was a windy night. I got up about in the night at 1:00 a.m. and sat in the cockpit for a couple of hours. Wasn't long after I got up when there was a bump!!! It even woke up John! Turned out it was a Sea Do that had come lose and was floating across the anchorage on its own!!

After breakfast we moved north of the Venetian Causeway to another anchorage where it was more protected. On arrival we recognised another Canadian boat there already "Suncast" with Bill and Barb Layzell from Toronto. We had met them in 2006 in the Bahamas.

We spent a lovely afternoon listening to a concert by the New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy, on Lincoln Road. Every year 100 applicants audition for 30 positions. It was wonderful. We heard "Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet, Op.30" by Paul Hindemith, and then Quintet in C Major for Two Violins, Two Violas and Cello, Op.29 "Storm" by Beethoven.
We both really enjoyed it.

In the evening Bill and Barb came over for munchies and drinks and had a good old chat getting up to date.
