Day 152, January 9th, 2010
Well, two days o f lovely weather was very nice!!! It started to rain just before 5:00 and didn't quit. The temperature seemed to go down every hour. Then when John got up to check the weather on the radio, he found the main radio had died!!! The ram mike out in the cockpit was working fine but the speaker had given up on the main unit in the cabin. We both agreed we did not want to go across to the Bahamas with a faulty radio! John spent sometime on the phone and finally managed to find a West Marine that would bring in a new radio on Tuesday and would take ours back under warranty. However, by the time we had it all settled, it was still raininig and freezing cold. We figured out the nearest anchorage to the West Marine, just about 13 miles south of us here. We decided to stay put today and move on tomorrow.
We are presently in a Borders Book Store just a short dinghy ride from the boat. They have free WiFi here so we're getting the Blog up to date. Its nice and warm in here too! Will shortly go back to the boat for supper.
