Day 146, January 3rd, 2010

Still freezing cold!

Today we walked up to West Marine to replace our dinghy light which had fried, even though it was meant to be waterproof. We'd hoped to bike up there but the bikes were all taken. It took us 50 minutes at a good pace!! I was wearing my new "Canada" T shirt I got for Christmas. I was working up so much energy with our fast walking that I had to take off my fleece and tie it round my waist. One lady we passed, all muffled up in fleece, jacket, hat and mitts, remarked "that's what can you expect from somebody from Canada - wearing just a T-shirt in this cold." Our legs were wobbly by the time we got back, but just had time to return our stuff to the boat and get more warm clothes before heading off to the Jazz Concert on the Riverwalk just a short walk from the Marina. Its held the first Sunday of the month and is free!
It was fun!

By 3:30 or so we were pretty much chilled to the bone so went back to the boat, lit our little propane heater and curled up for the rest of the evening.
