Day 147, January 4th, 2009
Today was our last day in Stuart! Several things to do today. We left the boat just after 9:00 with the laundry, the computer, washing tackle and the garbage to drop off! Again it was chilly - the hot showers felt so good. Then we got the laundry started and went upstairs to the common room with the computer. John quickly gave me a lesson on how to download books from e-books to my new treasured "Sony Reader", my Christmas present! Not too difficult, even for me, being technologically handicapped. I really am coming to love this gadget! Unlimited books - I feel spoiled!!! John then borrowed a bike and hightailed it off to buy more propane bottles for our little heater. The weather was forecast to continue cold for the coming week. When he got back he found the laundry piled on top of the washing machine. I'd completely forgotten all about it as I was steeped in the nether regions of computery!!! Good man - he took care of the drying and the folding!!! Then we switched, he took over the computer while I snuck off and bought him a birthday cake. My miserable efforts at surprise were pretty pathetic but he diplomatically managed to look the other way!
Back at the boat, we had a quick lunch. John plotted the course on the GPS to Lake Worth for the next day while I put the laundry away and cleaned house.
After supper Bev and Dave, from Back Roads, came over for a goodbye chat and a piece of birthday cake. We got up to date with our news and had a good laugh.
