Our Last day in Marathon

Day 221, March 19th, 2010

Our last day in Marathon. Lots of do today to get ready to move. In the morning I did the laundry while John looked after topping up the propane tank and filling up the gas and water tanks.

All that work caused us to get hungry so we went to "Annette's" for the $5.00 lunch! Then off to Publix for food and drinks, brought back to the boat in a grocery cart (no we didn't steal it, they have some at the marina for that purpose!). By the time we got the groceries put away it was time to go to "Nautilus" for supper.

We had a great evening with Al and Rosie on Nautilus. Their friends Ken and Jan were also there having driven down from Islamorada where they have a condo. We had a lovely meal and then a game of "Catch Phrase". That was a laugh! We also saw pictures of Nautilus when they bought her. She was hit by a hurricane and had spent a week on the bottom with a big hole punched through her starboard hull. My goodness Al and Rosie have done an amazing job of repairing and refitting their boat over the last couple of winters. What an undertaking! As Jan said "They are visionaries!" The picture above is Nautilus - the big white trawler.
