Day 49, September 20th, 2009
It was rather sad to leave Hamm's. Bit of a "rum place" but we had so much fun there!!! We left around 9:00 and set off again down the river. This photo was taken of the waterfront at Peoria. First overcast day we had had in over three weeks and when we arrived at the Peoria Lock it poured with rain! Went about 58 miles that day. Scenery all much the same - trees, trees, trees. Lots of blue heron and white egrets and even white pelicans, flocks of them. Arrived at Quiver Island where there was meant to be 10-12ft of water. However, we inched up behind some barges and anchored with 2ft beneath us. It was fine there though apart from the bugs. After our long day we snuggled down below with the screens in.
